Love this place. Outdoor seating on beautiful day is amazing. Terrific bartenders and wait staff. The wait can suck a tiny bit on aunt Saturday and Sunday afternoons though

Nice little place to stop by while enjoying the park. The bartender was so sweet and even went out of his way to make me a mocktail since I don't drink. The oysters were fresh and tasty! Highly recommend

Nice setting along the Great Highway and on the border of Golden Gate Park. The building holds both the Park Chalet (outside seating) and the Beach Chalet (upstairs and indoor seating). Menus are different so check them both out before deciding. Beach Chalet has a view of the ocean; Park Chalet has a beautiful outdoor area with grass and trees. We decided on Park Chalet since the weather was amazing. Service was very quick (although it was a Monday afternoon). We ordered two types of burger -- and both were huge and fabulous. Juicy, tasty, filling... All you could ask for. We washed it all down with a couple of enjoyable beers. Definitely a nice location to have a meal!

A leisurely first stroll down one of the many trails at Golden Gate Park led me to the Beach Chalet, quietly nestled near the Dutch Windmill. I didn't realize what I blindly drove by a couple of weeks ago exploring the neighborhood, and now I know better! A nondescript building across the street from Ocean Beach holds a great deal of intrigue within its walls. The lower level houses murals and stories of the history of the local area and a grassy, family friendly picnic area out back holds picnic tables and seating that allow for kids to play, warm conversations over frosty beverages, and a local DJ to all intermingle the sounds and joy of life in a cozy, sunny, comfortable micro clime all its own. The upper level where the restaurant is located was completely unexpected. The array of windows that are seen outside is a key feature to the Beach Chalet. The light that flows in from the outside is outdone by the view to the beach and surf each window has. The decor is subtle yet trendy, staff dapperly attired, and the seating spacious and comfy. The live trio of jazz musicians was a unique and pleasant touch. When they were on a brief break, the overhead speakers piped in a great selection of 80's tunes. The menus covered a wide, yet not overwhelming, array of surf and turf options from apps to salads and sandwiches to a full New York strip. There's a good mix of trustworthy menu staples along with some unique twists and blends if you want to tempt the fates of culinary exploration. I spent about 60 (including tax and ambiance) for a Cadillac marg, burger, salad, and an Irish coffee to finish the meal. All in all, a reasonable price for a new experience and a new place to add to the list of venues I like, will come back to, and be sure to bring friends and family as well!

Stopped in for a bite and a few drinks while at the beach across the street. If you're chilling at the beach, this place is extremely convenient. There's a restroom and the atmosphere is really nice obviously. The food was very pleasant as well, I would say upscale dining. We enjoyed everything we tried, I appreciate it the chef special. The drinks were very good and we ended up coming back for dinner later. There is a restaurant upstairs as well that is even more upscale. We did not eat there this time but we have eaten there before and it was a wonderful view and very good food. They are in the area and you want to treat some friends, I would recommend this place. They also sporadically have live music!

We had lunch here with friends and it was great! Our waitress was excellent and the food was really good. They have a kids menu, which the kids enjoyed and a good selection of cocktails for the adults. I had the clam chowder, fried calamari, and lobster roll. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. I recommend and would visit again.

Our wonderful waiter was Jesse and they had a band playing. Was happy with the food and overall a great experience!
